I have had migraines since my teens. In my own story, they improved significantly while I was receiving Botox treatment. I do not attribute that improvement to retatrutide.

That history is part of why I pay attention when migraine research asks a new question.

What caught my eye?

A 2025 pilot study looked at liraglutide in 31 people with obesity and frequent or chronic migraine. Participants reported fewer headache days over 12 weeks.

It was a small add-on study without a comparison group. That means we cannot know from this study alone whether liraglutide caused the improvement, or whether other people would have the same experience.

The word “peptide” can be confusing here

CGRP is a peptide involved in migraine. Medicines that block its action are a separate treatment approach. That does not mean injecting peptides generally is a migraine treatment.

For everyday care, a headache diary can help you describe patterns and treatment changes. New or changing symptoms deserve medical assessment. If your migraines are shifting around midlife, the hormonal context is worth bringing into that conversation too.
